If you are a fan of rpg games then you will enjoy it. If you are a fan of the first dragon age then you will be disappointed with it as it does not meet the high standards that the first game set.
Nonetheless the game is quite good and pretty fun to play. Although you will have to download the high res texture patch for it to improve the quality.

It's not bad. Not as great as the Mass Effect series but it can still be fun. Some fans were disappointed that they employed a more action-focused formula to the sequel compared to the original (which was more similar to older D%26amp;D CRPGs) but I actually liked it (but then again, I like Mass Effect).

Dragon Age Origins or Dragon Age 2 or Borderlands or Fallout 3?
Which TWO to get for best single player experience?Dragon Age Origins or Dragon Age 2 or Borderlands or Fallout 3?
For the best single player experience i would go with fallout three and dragon age origins. i would pair these up because not only are they great but they provide a diverse experiance from one another.
I liked fallout 3 better then borderlands they are rather similar but borderlands gets redundant after a while and is no where near as fun without a co-op partner. Fallout provides many hours of play and a customisable character name face abilitys and your choices influence events in the game.
Dragon age origins is in my opinion better than the second one. though in the 1st one graphics are worse and (though im one of the few who feel this way) the fighting is worse but it far surpases the 2nd one in its story and choices that influence the game. you can pick your characters back ground and have many different endings which will give you reasons to play the game over and over. also if you enjoy the game you will at some piont want to play the second one and since your choices have an effect on the 2nd one it would not be as enjoyable to play in reverse.
if you do get fallout and origins i suggest the copys with the dlc already included it is a little bit more expensive then the ones without but if you wany to get the dlc anyway it will save you about $60 or more since the games including the dlc are about $5 more and downloading each dlc seperate will run you about $10 a pop.

Borderlands is a GREAT game, played the crap outta it. Lots of DLC, Lots of game time. but its better with a friend to coop with you. Fallout 3 is also AWESOME, has TONS of DLC and a ridiculous amount of play time. but those are both FPS RPGs. If I'm not mistaken, Dragon Ages are 3rd person shooters, which I can't stand. So it really just depends on your personal preference, and just for the record, Oblivion was AMAZING with all the DLC, and I'll be waiting in line at midnight for Skyrim :)Dragon Age Origins or Dragon Age 2 or Borderlands or Fallout 3?

Do I need to have played Dragon Age: Origins to understand Dragon Age 2?
I really love all of Bioware's games and many RPG's, but I did not really hear of Dragon Age when it came out. I want to play the original and the sequel but I'd rather not spend too much money. If it was possible, I would just play the sequel if I could understand it. Please help and thank you.Do I need to have played Dragon Age: Origins to understand Dragon Age 2?
Dragon Age 2, ironically, takes place hundreds of years BEFORE Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age: Awakening. So, to answer, you do not need to play DA:O to understand DA2. You can, if you want, go to the Dragon Age wiki and catch up on the DA:O storyline to understand the basic idea.
I would still recommend buying Dragon Age: Origins, as it is one of the best Fantasy RPG games ever made.

It would be possible, there might be some mentions going back to Origins that you might not understand in DA2, but you should be to understand most of the game just fine. If youve played the demo that came out a few days ago, the characters make references to the grey wardens but not to important. And ya, the beginning part of DA2 is being told by varric some dwaren guy, and he explains what practically happens during origins and who was betrayed and who died. But I really dont think you need to play the first DA since the story and characters are different. hope that helps:)
